Get your classmates together and take on the Secondary School Challenge at this year’s Coastal 5km event.

It’s a great opportunity for schools to compete, support each other, and enjoy a fun day out on the course, proudly sponsored by Timpany Walton

What You Could Win

The Secondary School Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the school whose first five runners finish with the lowest combined placing in the 5km event.

There are three winning categories:

  • Female Secondary School Team

  • Male Secondary School Team

  • Co-ed Secondary School Team

Each of the top five runners in the winning teams will also receive a prize.

How to Create a Team

Setting up your school team is quick and easy.

1. Register for the event
Head to the entry page and select the 5kmSecondary School Challenge.

2. Create your team
During registration, select “Create a Team” and enter your school team name.

3. Register as Team Captain
The first person to create the team will become the Team Captain.

4. Receive your team link
Once registered, you’ll receive a unique team link via email. This will also appear in your registration dashboard.

5. Share with your school mates
Send your team link to classmates so they can join your team when signing up.

Teams must have a minimum of 5 participants to be eligible for the Secondary School Challenge.

How to Join a School Team

Already have a team set up? Easy.

You can either:

  • Use the team link shared by your Team Captain, or

  • Search for your school team name during registration and select it
